If taking care of your health is something that you intend to do, but you just haven’t gotten around to it yet, consider this: The majority of people who die of sudden cardiac death have no prior warning of significant heart disease. So, no more excuses. A shift in your diet is all that it takes to drastically reduce your risk of heart disease. And this applies to those who already have heart disease. Unless you are among the less than one percent of the people who have advanced valve damage, a genetic defect, or electrical pathway disease, you should be able to reverse the heart disease you now have.
In my new book, The End of Heart Disease, I explain exactly how to utilize dietary interventions to prevent high cholesterol, high blood pressure and coronary artery disease, and if you already have such conditions, how to reverse them and reduce or eliminate your medication for these problems, and avoid surgical interventions.
A Nutritarian diet is so effective at reversing heart disease, reducing weight, and reversing diabetes, that I inform everyone to consult with and be monitored by their physician when they embark on my plan because their medication will need to be reduced immediately and monitored closely for further reductions soon after starting. Seriously, do not underestimate the effectiveness of this program to drop blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar.
For those who have spent decades eating unhealthy foods that are highly addictive, processed foods that have high amounts of salt, sugar and chemicals, changing your diet is a lifestyle change. It means learning to shop differently, retraining your taste buds to appreciate the deliciousness of fresh fruits and vegetables. My work is dedicated to helping my patients overcome these obstacles to implementing effective changes in their diets.
Let me be clear: Drugs used for blood pressure and cholesterol lowering can cause cancer and changing one’s diet is the only safe way and the most effective method to lose weight, lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, and reverse heart disease; making most medical care and medical interventions for heart disease obsolete.
In my opinion, acknowledgement of the full risks of medication used for cholesterol and high blood pressure, their relative ineffectiveness and the proven benefits of a nutritarian diet, should be distributed to every heart patient. Not informing patients about this safe and more effective non-medical intervention should be considered malpractice. If a patient is not told about effective dietary interventions and is instead offered only drugs, and a host of invasive procedures, including surgery, then that person is being denied informed consent. Every person on high blood pressure medicine, every person on statins, every person with atheroscelerosis, should be told that existing heart ailments can improve and eventually resolve through these proven dietary interventions. Learn the facts, review the studies.
