--About--
My goal is to help you understand and change the dynamics and patterns keeping you from a satisfying relationship. Whether faced with a crisis or simply seeking marriage counseling to improve your life together, we can work to improve communication skills, manage anger, rebuild trust, stop fighting, reconnect emotionally, and develop an action plan to improve the relationship.
You may be struggling with the hurt of an infidelity or an emotional affair. I commonly help couples recover from email and texting affairs or internet infidelity. You may be looking at alternatives to divorce or to reconnect sexually. We can't change the hurts of the past or the difficult situation causing you to seek help, however we can work together in a safe, therapeutic environment to heal and trust each other again.
Please email me or call me to discuss your situation. I look forward to the opportunity to be of assistance.
--Education & Training--
Angela Winslow received her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of San Diego. Before entering private practice in 2005 she received valuable training in a variety of one year internships and employment assignments: the VA Family Medical Clinic where she worked exclusively with couples, receiving live supervision from Dr. Gary Birchler, noted couples researcher, San Diego Hospice, The Helix Center for Family Development and The Fleet and Family Support Center at Naval Station N. Island Coronado.
She enjoys enriching her knowledge base by frequently attending conferences and seminars concerning couples counseling and sex therapy, receiving training in The Gottman Method, Emotion Focused Therapy, with Terry Real and also in Dr. David Snarsch’s Crucible approach. She is an ASSECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists) member and attends monthly STEM (Sex Therapy Education & Medicine) clinical grand rounds at the Institute for Sexual Medicine at Alvarado Hospital in San Diego. Many of her cases are taken to phone consultations with Terry Real who is helpful with suggestions and feedback for interventions.
