I drive 45 minutes for my daughter, who has Down Syndrome, to see Dr. Cheng. I do not know how someone could give him a bad review! He is one of the most respectful, caring and thorough physicians I know. She had an eye issue that was misdiagnosed 3 times locally and I learned my lesson that it is better for her to miss school than to take a chance with someone else closer to our home when school and work schedules are difficult to coordinate.
Know that your child is in good hands with staff that is caring and respectful of your special needs child. My daughter always wants to hug Dr. Cheng at the end of each appt. She is very aware of his kind and gentle soul. If he is running late, it is because he takes his time to give accurate diagnosis and of course, children can have a hard time following directions and sitting still during eye appointments!

My toddler and I waited over 2 hours in the waiting room for her appointment which ended up being only 5 minutes with Dr. Cheng. A friend of mine also warned me that she had waited over 2 hours to see him but I gave Dr. Cheng a chance and was surprisingly disappointed. Two hours in a full waiting room is a long time to wait but it is especially long for children. Other parents in the waiting room were also disgruntled and surprised at how long it was taking. It is evident that the quality of care is lacking and the only thing this office deems as important is the number of patients they can see in a day. It was also interesting that their are no doors on any of the examining rooms. I was surprised since you can clearly hear the conversations the doctor is having with other patients in adjacent rooms. The irony is that you have to sign Hippa forms and yet they speak openly to patients while other patients can hear. This did not particularly bother me but If someone does care about their information remaining private I would not recommend this office. I definitely think that I could have received better service somewhere else and will not be returning to this practice in the future.
