DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!! When we placed my mother here, she walked in happy and completely mobile. Because she had dementia, we found her on day 2, completely sedated and placed in a guard in a wheelchair. I met with the staff and the administrator and told them we did not want her sedated like this again. That evening (6 hours later) I visited again and my mother was still sedated and could barely raise her head. After I left, she "fell" is what I was told when we received a call. We were told she had a mild fracture in her wrist but would see the doctor in two days. Then two days later she "fell" again and I had to insist an ambulance be called. I met the ambulance at the hospital and Mom had to undergo surgery for a broken hip and to have metal plates and screws placed in her hand.

Meadowview completely lied to our family, and had total disregard for my mother's well being. Mom was moved to another nursing home but sadly died within 3 months. The elderly cannot always heal from such trauma, and my mother's body shut down. Meadowview is the worst example of nursing care I have seen. Do not be fooled by the pretty advertisement brochures and TV commercials - look at the number of patients kept in PVC tubing "guards" in their wheelchairs. It is unlawful to restrain them with ties so this sham operation gets around it with "blocking" their way out of wheelchairs. The nursing staff is also completely dishonest and under qualified. The administration is comprised of sick minded profiteers. If at all possible take your parent into your home and get at home care where you can provide supervision. Your parent spent your whole life getting you to where you are now - don't repay them with a torturous existence and a life cut short by these wicked people.
