My grandfather was a resident of View Park Convalescent 20 years ago and I am amazed how the quality of professionalism and nurturing concern has drastically improved. My 82 year old mother currently resides at VPC and feels like she is on vacation. Honestly, my mother begged me to NEVER put her in a convalescent home and I promised I would do my best to care for her myself. Unfortunately, we did not have that option. As I followed the ambulance from Brotman Hospital to VPC H I was devastated and fearful of my mother’s reaction once she realized she was not returning home. Since then my mother has significantly improved, mentally and physically! She is being cared for 24/7 and all of her needs and our concerns are being addressed immediately. One of the factors that I truly admire is the (entire) staff, they are amazing. Their main concern for MY mother is to make sure she is happy. They address and resolve every matter, for example, switching rooms in order for my mother to feel content. I am no longer apprehensive about my mom’s welfare as I am confident that she is being well taken care of as the nurses, administrators and VPCH team all care for her as if she was their own mother or grandmother. When my grandfather was at VPCH my mom felt the need to drop by several times a day to make sure he wasn’t being mistreated. Now, when I miss a day, I know in my heart that my mom is in safe hands. If ever there is medical concern, I am called immediately and kept apprised of her condition and plan for treatment. Every phone call (between me and my brother, we call several times a day) is answered immediately and each request is granted with gladness. In addition, my mom has made several friends, enjoys going to physical & occupational therapy and delights in the music and daily activities. Furthermore, my mother is thriving with the optimum care she is receiving physically and mentally. Mom was deteriorating and has gone from feeble and depressed, healthy and jovial. She sees her stay at VPCH as the next phase of her life, not the last… I look forward to not only visiting with my mom and her new friends but spending time at VPCH as it is an extremely welcoming environment. We enjoy spending time on the patio and taking mom for walks through the neighborhood. Finally, I appreciate that everyone at VPCH has patience, understanding and are good natured. I know my mom is safe, well cared for and grateful that this stage of her life is being spent at the most wonderful convalescent home in Los Angeles County. We are blessed and thankful! Sincerely, Mimi

My experience on Sunday, June16th, 2013 was obstinate/stubborn in deliverence. I went to the Front Desk to get assistance for my aged sister, who needed to go to the bath-room. The CNA that came in to assist me simple got in front of my sister and I but did nothing to help us. This was soooo incomperhensible for her to stand and not do anything. My question after a second or two was " are you going to help me?" The person didn't move AT ALL to help or assist. When I walked out to get help, Help did arrive. The problem was the dis-honesty of the report. When I went to report this, I was taken back by one lie after another. The person who wrote the report lied, by saying the CNA had worked at the place for 16 years. NOT SO. When I reported to the administrator as to what had happended, I was told that " I crused the CNA, and push or shelved her." None of this happend. Further, when speaking to the Administrator, I was told by him that "he couldn't have people coming in with threats against his staff." Then, to my surprise, after speaking with him for a while, he said that he had not spoken to the CNA in question. Unbelieveable! On Tue. I did go in and speak directly with the Admi. we did reach doable terms. I conclude that; the STAFF will network together to present the story that best fit them. Careful with any altercation that may possible arrive while visiting with your Love ones. Whip out the cell phone while making your complaint....
