Dr. V and his staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful. They are very caring to all the furry friends that they take such good care of. We would recommend this office.

ZERO STARS IF OPTION WAS AVAILABLE!

Called this business last Friday and fully explained my dogs pregnancy situation. Her 30lbs got bred (by pure accident) by a 150lb male. I was worried about uterine rupture during labor and was seeking a spay during pregnancy or c-section/spay.

Meagen, a vet tech employed there talked to me very nicely and was very compassionate. She even had the vet himself talk to me. She quoted me surgery at $150.00. It was of course too high for myself but I knew I had to find a way to get it done in fear of my dog losing her life.

After spending the memorial day weekend selling my personal belongings to come up with the funds for surgery... my dog started losing her mucus plug. This turned into a dire situation faster than I thought. Without the office being open Monday to schedule an appointment I left my home early Tuesday morning and headed towards to Denton, TX. Calling every few minutes before 8am hoping someone had gotten there early. Shortly before 8am a woman named Shonda answered the phone.

Shonda already seemed upset that calls were coming in early but I was frantic and didn't want my dog to go into active labor without being seen. After explaining who I was and that I had called Friday she informed me that I would be charged another $40 just to bring her in. Also that the surgery could possibly cost alot more than I had been told. I was broken. I didn't have that kind of money. We had major financial issues that came up in the last month and I felt like I had been deceived. Shonda perceived to tell me it wasn't her or the animal hospitals fault my dog was pregnant, which I felt was completely unappreciated and rude. I told her that I thought that comment was rude and she told me to "find somewhere else to take my stupid dog then" immediately then hanging up on me.

I was outraged to be shown such dismay in my already panicked state of mind. I quickly found a safe place to pull over off the highway and called the vets office back. When Shonda answered the phone I again told her that I believed her comment was hurtful and rude. She didn't apologize nor agree that she went too far. Again, trying to figure out why all of a sudden these "new" charges would be on my bill Shonda would interrupt me talking or asking questions. She demanded I stop yelling at her when in fact I wasn't, I was frantic over my dogs safety and faced with tough decisions. She hung up on me countless times and wouldn't speak but only pick up the phone to hang it back up like a child throwing a tantrum.

I wanted to talk to the vet. The same supposedly caring man I had spoken with on the preceding Friday. Finally a different vet tech answered the phone and I explained to him what had happened with Shonda and he said he was putting me on hold to speak with the vet himself. I take it, that after he walked off to speak to the vet Shonda saw her chance to be hateful once more. I told her I didn't want to speak with her after how she had treated me just moments before. That I was talking to a male vet tech and he was speaking to the vet for me. Shonda then told me I was mistaken that she was the only person I would be talking to. Shonda informed me that she had already talked to the vet on staff and he said not to bring my dog into their office. Shonda told that she didn't want me or my stupid dog in their office. That she would call the cops if I showed up and that I should just turn around now because I wouldn't be helped there.

This business is NOT BBB accredited and I can certainly see why. Customer service was a huge fail today.

Luckily, I called my long time vet and they said had I received the surgery companion animal hospital insisted my dog receive that my dog would more than likely be worse off than not having a surgery done at this time. Our vet said I ended up being lucky that I was treated SO poorly because it possibly saved my dogs life.
My dog received xrays at our current vet and they said she was fine to give birth to them. They werren't the giant monsters that companion animal hospital in Denton TX had me believing they would be.
