I am a licensed massage therapist who moved to Newcastle from Berkeley (History Professor) thinking it was a good choice for retiring. The vote is still out on that, but what makes me lean toward the positive side about staying or going is the fact that I met Veloyce at Monster Massage. I don't have much tolerance for massage therapists who fall short of getting to anything beyond the surface - especially since I used to work as one when I lived in Berkeley. Don't ask me to fiddle around with you! Anyway, Veloyce "was" (and I'm certain "is") someone I needed to meet as I was dealing with way too many disasters in my life taking place at about the same time. I tend to show my trauma by getting sick. Veloyce helped me realize that I was sure to make it through whatever seemed waiting for me. I am writing this review now because I have indeed made it trough some difficult times - to the point that I can now get outside and take care of my own needs. And, tomorrow I am going to make an appointment with Veloyce. That said, I am keenly aware of how a therapist can become exhausted and burned-out. Been there. I'm left with the question: Is there something I can do to NOT add to the stress of Veloyce's being a compassionate, loving person, and see him on a regular basis?

Never! I don't think I've ever been put on hold here for a long time
