I will say this, Preventive Dental does a good job......as long as you have insurance. If your insurance is about to expire in a month or so, avoid this dental institution at all costs. My adopted father had to get my insurance extended by a month, and this place STILL dropped the ball in calling them up and getting things set to put a crown on my right front tooth. It has been about 2 years now, and I am still walking around with a hole in the tooth this place left me with. I have been unable to get the crown at other institutions due to my lack of insurance and lack of money. Preventive Dentals' lack of responsibility is very evident, especially when I have set up an appointment, arrive on time, and shots of Novocaine have been put in my mouth, and minutes later the receptionist walks in and tells me to go home because they have not received verification from my insurance company during the time it was extended. It is complete and utter humiliation. I had to take time from my schooling to go there and get shots just to go home with half of my mouth numb.
Other than that, this institution does a good job of filling cavities with very little pain and will do root canals with the crown without much hassle or pain. I'd advise Preventive Dental, but give a warning to those of you whose insurance is a few months from expiration.

I was the one who posted under "V" as my name and I wrote about being quoted 5 fillings, which I paid for and then 6 months later was quoted 2 more fillings which I refused to get done. Since that time, I have gone to a new dentist in Placerville who gave me a very thorough first exam, and I had a clean bill of dental health! Those 2 cavities I supposedly had were not even there. Unfortunately, since I paid for FIVE fillings from Dr. Han before this, my new dentist couldn't check to see if those were even needed or not because they'd already been filled so it's too late to check on that. Please, don't go to Dr. Han and if you absolutely HAVE to, PLEASE second guess how many services you actually need or how many cavities he says you have. There are dental students at schools like American River and Tech schools that need hours and patient time, so you may be able to get free or very cheap dental care through them. Plus they have teachers that keep an eye on what they do. Avoid avoid avoid Dr. Han. I have been monitering the reviews on this site and if a couple more negative ones come through, I'm considering reporting this business to the BBB or attorney general.

I too was a victim of Dr Han. It has been over 6 months and still have cuts and sores on my gums from his plate. Dr Han dismisses my claims without even looking in my mouth. He is very rude and disrespectfully and talks down to you. He should not be allowed to get away with doing business in this manner, and needs to be stopped. To discuss mutual problems with him call 520-626-0381

On the flip side of things, I visited this office for and interview. I applied for a job as a dental assistant. After waiting in the front room for 30 minutes I got taken to the back by a very rude man who dident even interduce himself and could hardly speak english. He asked if i could take x-rays, I replied yes but iam not familiar with digital x-rays but iam excited to learn since there so much faster. He replied everyone knows that, dont tell me. He asked me a few more questions, then asked how much I thought I should make. I replied 13 dollars and hour since I have completed my school and have received my x-ray license. He got up and said no way. well iam sorry i wouldent work for Han for a million dollars let alone minumum wage. You are a very rude man and you should be ashamed.
