Terrible experience there today. Went for my daughter's first dental visit and waited an hour past appointment time to even be called. She was excited, ready. We left in tears. She is 3 years old, and per policy, parents are not allowed in the back after 3!! This is an extremely shy, clingy child who has never done anything alone before. I tried to explain to the staff, but I was told "it's just policy". They tried to talk to Dr. Carr to make an exception, but came back to tell me "she's with a BABY" with a lot of emphasis on the word baby. Like my 3 year old is not a baby anymore and should be able to go by herself. Every child is different, and some are not used to strangers! My girl has never been in daycare, preschool, any sort of classes. All she knows is family. There was no way she would do it by herself. I was told, "She'll be okay. They usually cry for a few minutes and then calm down". I did not want my child's first dentist experience to be traumatizing, starting with her being taken away from me while crying! Never in my life did I think a 3 year old would be asked to face their first dental visit alone. I promptly left, and we will never return. Shame on this place for not even trying to make a positive first impression on a young child.

The wait is incredibly long. I arrived early for a 1 pm appointment and my child did not see a person until 1:45, I did not leave until 3 PM. The office is beautiful and high tech. But after stating I was not comfortale sedating my 3 year old. Carr stated there were numerous options but repeated only one option giving a 30 lb child intravenious drugs. After I stated that I know medical professionals personally who have stated about the risks, she essentially nicely booted me out of her practice and reccomend I go elsewhere. She stated that the reason my prior pediatric dentist was willing to fill the cavaties without IV sedation was because they were old school and are accustomed to old methods of dentistry.

I felt that she was unwilling to see my input as valid and with simple dismissed. She made far reaching assertions after one visit and did not provide customized care. As I attempted to explain the realities of my child's oral health from previous dentists and family history. And explain that I've seen my child give blood and go to multiple dental appointments without this issue, I could see Carr was more and more disinterested in retaining my child as a patient. Often parents are not allowed to go behind the scenes and even more parents don't question the methodologies and reasoning behind why a practitioner does what they do. To dramatically increase my child's risk for the convenience and skill level of the practitioner is hardheartedly unacceptable.

Dr. Carr and her staff ALL deserve five stars! I am a mother of 2 children under 10 now, but have worked as a registered orthodontic assistant for 4 separate orthodontic offices for a total of 14 years prior to being a mommy. I have seen 1st hand how a well-run office works. This is it! Dr. Carr only hires the best!!! I have never felt like I didn't get the help or ins. answers I was looking for. A LOT of offices say that it is up to me to know what my insurance will pay. Never have I beeen told that here! They always present offfice charges along with the amount that ins. pays.

The clinical staff is just as friendly! Again, my child and I are both well informed as to what will be done before they ever walk back. We are always asked if there are any questions that may be answered then too.

At this point, my children happily leave me behind for the movie and IPad. And no, I do not feel concerned or worried about not being there to hold their hand, because I KNOW the effect that holding a nervous child's hand does. From experience, when I was assisting, I would have a nervous child who was doing great ask for his/her parent. Without exception, the parent would be brought back, hold the child' s hand, say a few "It's ok's", and all of a sudden you now have a bawling child and are no longer able to finish your procedure. You have to be confident in the staff and doctor to provide comfort to the child. Read the reviews to make that judgment, also, stop in to make your first appointment. This will give you a great wealth of knowledge as to the mood of the children leaving as well as the cleanliness of the office. You'll also be witness to how phone calls are handled.

One last note, I haven't said much about the doctor yet. I was saving the best for last! Dr. Carr is so wonderfully caring, sensitive to my choices and financial decisions. She makes herself available to talk with. How rare is that in this day and age?!! If you're wondering if I have ever worked for Dr. Carr, therefore feeling some kind of loyalty to her... no. However, I can say that I have dealt with her for nearly 8 years now. She first cared for my 1 year old at another practice. I was so amazed at the way she interacted with my child! Then she left that practice and I wasn' t sure where she'd gone. You can imagine my happiness to finally find her again!!! Not all dentists are created equal! Dr. Carr certainly rates high on my scale!

We love Dr. Carr! We used to see her at her previous location when she was with a group. We left unhappy with the group coverage. When Dr. Carr went out on our own and we found out, I called her immediately and made an appointment!

Not only is she helping with dental work but she also is helping us with some minor orthodonics. Both my kids love her. She and her staff are so helpful, understanding and kind. I will recommend her to everyone!

My kids love Dr. Carr and her staff. They are always so friendly and make my kids feel safe and comfortable. They also love the fact that they can watch movies while getting their teeth worked on and play with an I-Pad when they are finished. Dr. Carr always talks to me about the health of my kids teeth after every appointment. I love the fact that she takes time out of her busy schedule to have that one on one time with me. I would highly recommend Dr. Carr and her staff to anyone looking for a great pediatric dentist!

I love Carr Pediatric Dentistry! Dr. Carr and her staff are such wonderful, caring people. The office is beautiful and I love that they have coffee, tea and water available in the waiting room. Some people don't like that they take the kids back on their own, but I trust them completely and actually enjoy the quiet time with a good magazine. My boys love going to the dentist because they have video games in the waiting room and iPads with lots of cool games in the treatment room. One of my boys did need a filling and I felt they did a great job of explaining the procedure. My boys highly recommend Carr Pediatric Dentistry! :)

Dr.Carr makes you feel bad about decisions or opinions you may have regarding your child's dental care. She tries to make you feel guilty if you tell her you’re not ready to do whatever she says. She told me I needed to do four baby root canals and crowns on my four year old, I thought this was absurd, my child had cavities but nothing too terrible. I got a second opinion and got the cavities filled with just traditional fillings. Is she just trying to line her pocketbook by charging 3 times as much for unneeded work? I went to a different dentist and had to pay for x-rays again out of pocket because Dr. Carr refused to give them to me in a timely manner and I had my child given oral sedation for $300 and I still paid less than Dr. Carr wanted to charge me.
I also don’t trust any dentist who won’t let me go back with my child, there is a reason they won’t let you go back, they wrap your kids up in a blanket because they use no other forms of sedation than nitrous. I would be horrified if my dentist wrapped me up so I could not express my pain or uncomfortableness. It would make me scared of the dentist for the rest of my life, and from the reviews I have read that is exactly what happens when kids go to this dentist.
