A I was very pleased with everything that went on in the treatment. I was happy with the results. I liked the doctor, he explained to my husband in detail what the results were. That was a relief for him and also me.

Overall my experience was very positive. Staff at the surgery center continue to be very professional as well as making sure all my comfort needs were met. I have had a number of procedures done at the Mason City Surgery Center and I feel very confident in the staff. I can not say enough about the nursing staff. Very caring no mater how busy they might be. This was my first experience with Dr. J and considering the procedure I had, I felt very confident in his ability to provide me with the best treatment. He took the time to address all my questions. No complaints what so ever!

Saw Dr. Jay for hemorrhoids (internal & external). Had been hospitalized in Charles City for ecoli infection (turned out to be staff in bladder). Was having serious problems. Dr. Jay looked at hemorrhoids but was more concerned about surgical incision from previous surgeries on right buttock. Was concerned that it had still not healed after a year. Dr. Jay is setting me up for an MRI to see why I am still having problems. Thinks infection is due to this. He said he will also talk about doing a colonoscopy after the MRI. He will fix this problem finally (like so many other doctors have not been able to do!) Dr. Jay is a very caring doctor. He will find out what is causing all of this. Dr. Jay took care of me 13 years ago when he found I had breast cancer. He did a mastectomy and always checked on me during my chemo, blood testing, etc. I know Dr. Jay will find out the cause of all of this and be able to finally help me to be ok, just like before. I recommend Dr. Jay to anyone who needs a good, caring, concerned doctor!

DR Jay gave me an exam for hernia repair. Was very precise about what he was going to do to repair the hernia. He also noticed that i had had this done once before on the right groin side.He asked me when i had it done and i told him in 1986.Asked me what they did and itold him that they cut me open and pushed the bulge back in and sewed it up.DR Jay told me that they were going to cut me open and put a mesh in and sew it back up.Dr Jay is a very good doctor. He did my left side in 2009.

The actual hernia repair was back in March and this appointment was a check on if everything was okay. I am very pleased with the care and follow up on this procedure. I think Dr. Jayawardena is very good and I would want him for any other procedures I might have to have in the future. P.S. I am not able to log in to my account. The password they gave me to start with never worked.

I had a colon polyp removed by Dr. Jayawardena at Mercy Medical Center. I found that all staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I felt like I was in good, caring hands at all times. Everything was explained to me completely. I really appreciated meeting all the people in the pre-op facility and operating room. The surgery was at the time scheduled. The recovery nurse was very kind and concerned about my level of pain. When I got back to the pre-op room I was given a wonderful glass of ice water and a cup of coffee. That was a wonderful thing for them to do. There was some mix-up on the discharge orders and prescription for pain meds which was followed through by the nurses. I was released with full explanation of post-op care and written instructions. My recovery was fast and with very little pain. I'm sure that was due to the skill of the surgeon and the excellent care I received. Thanks to Dr. Jayawardena and the staff at Mercy Medical.
