I recently changed insurance to an HMO so I had to change from my old dentist to Premier Dental Associates of Arlington Heights. When I arrived for my first appointment I had to wait about 40 minutes to get my X-rays taken and after that I had wait another 30 minutes before the dentist saw me. The dentist spent no more than 10 minutes with me and told me that I had six (6) cavities. I immediately thought that this was odd because I had zero (0) cavities since my last dentist appointment at my old dentist just a year prior. When I mentioned this fact to the dentist she "proved it" to me by stabbing my teeth with her pick in the areas she deemed to be cavities, causing me quite a great amount of pain.

After that appointment I had my X-rays transferred to my old dentist and went in for a second opinion. My old dentist told me that I only had one (1) cavity.

Premier Dental Associates of Arlington Heights would have charged me for unnecessary and expensive fillings. They were willing to destroy my healthy teeth so that they could receive a larger fee. Not only does that destroy any trust between patient and doctor, but I feel that it was a highly unethical action. I would advise anyone thinking about using this dentist with an HMO (or any insurance plan) to avoid them entirely. Needless to say I will NEVER return to Premier Dental Associates of Arlington Heights.

Dentist and hygenist were professional. They made an effort to not make me feel rushed even though it's a factory in there. Front staff is AWFUL! I've never an experience that comes close to how terrible they are. She insisted on doing things her way to make it easy for her with total disregard for inconvenience to patient and argued regarding federal law/ins requirements (I'm an atty). Had to call back three times to change an appt. Waited for a very long time to pay at end of appt. It was obvious from standing waiting to pay that the women in front do not like each other and cannot work together. Their hostile situation shows in patient interaction. This is the only convenient provider on ins plan otherwise the front desk experiences would send me to another provider. If you're a full pay, choose a different provider; it's not worth the aggrevation.
