Dr Damn is the best! He has resolved every blemish, every growth (some were recommended by PCPs for plastic surgery too) in a flash. I am stunned that anybody would have a negative review of him (which doesn't mean much from somebody with a rash that apparently nobody else was able to immediately cure and which took only 2 visits to pinpoint by Dr. Damn - he is a Dr., not a magician).

I have been suffering from dyshridotic eczema for about 15 years. Have been to upteen doctors and specialists to no avail. I have spent lots of on co-payments and prescriptions that didn't work. After a while I just learned to live with this condition. It's not life. However it's incredible itchy and embarrassing. I promised myself that I would not fall for any more "fishing expeditions" meaning go to another dermatologist and have him or prescribe this medication or that medication to see if there is any improvement. I recently found an article online about a medication prescribed in Europe called Toctino aka Alitretinoin which showed promising results. I gave myself one more opportunity of hope an made an appointment with Dr. Damm in March this year. At the time of the examination I explained to him that I had been suffering from Dyshidrosis for several years, that I had previously been to several dermatologists, and had been prescribed almost every topical medication available to treat dyshidrosis without the slightest sign of relief or improvement. I showed him several articles about the medication Toctino I had found on the internet. Dr. Damm was very polite and symapethitc. However he was reluctant to prescribe this medication because he did not know enough about it. He then informed me that he had been very successful at least controlling my condition with a regiment of Kenalog shots(which is a steriod). Dr. Damm convinced me to try this course of treatment. I was very reluctant at first because it had the appearance of yet another "Fishing Expedition" which I refused to go through again. I had my heart set at trying Toctino and nothing else. I relented and took the shot which Dr. Damn recommended. Dr. Damm then recommended that I return in three weeks with a follow up shot. He also prescribed Cloderm(topical cream) which I received free of charge. The results of the Kenalog shot were at first very promising. The itching had stopped. I had no additional outbreaks of dyshidrosis. I was brought to tears thinking that this might be the cure/relief I was hoping and praying for so long. However, the relief was short lived. It lasted exactly one week. Then the outbreaks and the itching came back with a vengeance. The Cloderm (which was free) did absolutely nothing. In order to get some relief I bought some over the counter Hydrocortisone Cream for $7 which controlled the itching somewhat. I was so disappointed. I returned today to see Dr. Damm (at a co-pay cost of $25 each time). I explained everything that had happened after the last office visit. He re-examined me and now claims I had a stubborn skin fungus. Shouldn't that have been determined from the start with a culture and he (Dr. Damm) having 40 years experience as a dermatologist? He prescribed me two anti-fungal medications which Walmart didn't even have and CVS would have charged me $50. I've had plenty of fungal infections in my life which I normally cured with an $8 can of lotrimin. I chose to throw out the prescription Dr. Damm gave me and save my money to find a dermatologist who is willing to considered my research to find a cure for my ailment. I'm sure Dr. Damm is great with skins conditions that are more common and easily treatable. I would have respected him if he said to me from the start that he did not know of a cure for my condition and that he did not want to take money without a good chance of a cure or at least some relief. I suppose specialists would not be so cavalier prescribing medications that ultimately do not work or having patients return for costly office visits if they were forced to guarantee their work like any other profession and not get paid unless they are successful in the their treatment. How are we ever going to obtain control over health care costs with non-sense like this? To add insult to injury the Dr. Damm's secretary reminded me to be sure and make another appointment so they collect another $25 for nothing.
