Where do I begin. I was scheduled to leave out for college in less than a week, and they made sure that they would be able to accommodate all of my needs before I left. Not only were they able to meet my regular dental needs, but they were also able to get my items necessary for my Teeth Whitening kit within that short, and tight, time frame which worked quite well as predicted. Throughout the entire experience I never felt as if I was unnecessarily taking up their time and space. From the moment I would walk in I would feel welcomed. The dental assistant (which unfortunately I forgot her name) was always free to converse on important topics. Overall I love the experience and atmosphere, and am actually scheduled to be back during my Spring Break. I would definitely recommend them to anyone for any service. Also I met Dr. Stubblefield on various occasions and she never once made it seem as if I wasn't on her level to be spoken with. She was always friendly and is actually well versed in what she does.

After a few visits of normal cleaning services I eventually needed to have work done (fillings). I was given a quote that estimated around $200 for the days service and the fillings for later. Two months later after the procedure, I found out in the mail that I now owed an additional $240 because the estimate was way off what they expected and they forgot to add a few things from the earlier visit (some toothpaste I probably didn't need, that I thought was included in the initial $200).

After finally going to my insurance's website to review the claims I had found out that I have been given things at each treatment that my insurance never even covered. I'm too old to be given topical application of fluoride so each visit I've been overpaying each visit. I'm given x-rays that I am told "I am due for" only to find out insurance only covers that particular x-ray every 2 years.

Clearly Gaineseville Family Dental Center did not have my best interests in mind when they "talked to my insurance" or they wouldn't be giving me needless procedures to inflate the bill, or get an estimate that was hundreds of dollars off.

The only upside of this is now I know that I have to be a pro-active middle man between my insurance and medical providers. I need to dictate my own dental procedures and do my own estimates because Gainesville Family Dental Center are highly inadequate at their jobs at best or grossly negligent at worst.

This dentists office was amazing. I was only in town for a few weeks and had a horrible toothache two days before i had to leave and ended up going in for an emergency visit. They set me at ease, gave me a free consultation with an x-ray and all, extracted the tooth, wrote me a perscription for antibiotics and painkillers, and set me up with a great payment plan. I've never felt so valued or so cared for in a doctor's office. Not once did i feel like a burden or like a disposable patient. The DR. and the staff were friendly, chatty, and answered all of my questions. If I was from this area, I most definitely would make Dr. Stubblefield my Dentist fro life.
