Like others I wish I would have read these reviews prior to going to this "Dr.". I went to her one time and she didn't even pretend to care about how I was feeling while seeming to be more interested to know that I was out-of -network and would have to pay her inflated $340 hourly fee. So ridiculous. I mean she actually listened for maybe twenty minutes, tried to prescribe me something that I had unsuccessfully taken before after telling her just that. Extremely unprofessional by answering calls during the very expensive 45 minute time slot. Tried to schedule me a follow up appointment over the phone and I said I had found someone else and she actually stated that "It is just crazy that you would go to someone else. I have never even heard of that guy. That's crazy." Verbatim. What kind of insane psychiatrist calls patients with mental health problems crazy. What is wrong with YOU Dr. Shilling. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY NEEDS HELP.

Horrible! Put the whole family on the same medication even though we were diagnosed with a different disorder just because we are genetically related. Even my young child! When I tried to change my child's psychiatrist she got very upset and offensive. She was upset at me for calling during an appointment - note that she answers the phone when in with a patient! She seemed very narcissistic and did not listen when I told her about side effects. I was told to just trust her. She should be stripped of her license!

Terrible experience. This doctor is a narcissist, only after your money, and is praying on the mentally ill. Her license should be revoked.

It has been a while since I saw her but I have regretted not telling my story. I called in to her during a break up and she had an appointment right away (first red flag), then as others have said, she prescribed me with an antipsychotic after fifteen minutes, even when I told her I had no history of mental illness other than anxiety. She continued giving me the drug from her personal stash for a few weeks during which time she (a large woman) told me (a short woman weighing roughly 135 pounds) that working out was not an appropriate way to handle my stress because "men prefer overweight women." ?!?! I soon after told her I wanted to ween from the meds as they were giving me side effects and I didn't think I needed them. She became irate and refused to consult me as to how to reduce my dosage. She threatened me saying that I would "crash and burn" without meds. I'm happy to say that has not been the case, but truly scared for her current and future clients. Beware!

Wish I never had went to this Dr. Wish I had read reviews of her before getting sucked into her psycho BS. She labeled me as Bi Polar which I have been seen by three dr since to prove I am not. She took me off my antidepressants an when I asked for help..she would not put me back on them. She does not have a receptionist. She is never on time. she answers calls when in our appointment...so rude and unprofessional. My primary doctor pulled me out of her circle and got me a REAL doctor. Save your money...Save yourself the heartache...Run from her and don't see her!

The doctor was argumentative about my complaints that the medication she prescribed after the first visit was making me nauseous, and said it was probably coming off caffeine. She had insisted that I must give up all caffeine as it was a depressant. Dr. Shilling was inflexible in her care path and when I asked if there was a different med I could try, she said "no". I had told her of my previous medications intolerance on the first visit. I told her I didn't want to be a zombie to medications but I guess it's easy to dispute anything I say, since I'm seeking psychological help. The doctor didn't seem like she wanted to listen to what I had to say. I'm also sensitive to smells, (mentioned on the first visit) so would have appreciated if she cut back a little on the cheap perfume. She got angry when I tried to explain that I couldn't afford to make more frequent visits, since I was not working. The doctor said I was the one wasting my appointment time jabbering about her prices. My Mom can't afford upwards of $500 a month for my appointments no matter how much she wants to get me help. My emotional anxieties and depression were totally not helped here. I was upset after the first appointment, and left sobbing after the verbal attack I received on my second appointment. I am not a druggy looking for medications with a "street value". The person that made THAT review sounded judgmental and condesending just like the doctor herself, hmm? I only wished I had seen these comments before choosing to see Dr. Shilling. The doctor for all her appointment cost options can't seem to take her appointments on time. When I complained about this, following the fee conversation the doctor assured me "sometimes you have to wait, I've waited longer". I was not being unreasonable waiting for over 30 minutes for a professional, should be met with an apology at the very least. I can see why I was able to get in to see her easily, when most psychiatrists had a waiting list or were not accepting new patients, I can't believe she gets a lot of return business. I do not feel like the doctor was there to help me but for the money and the power trip. If anything I am emotionally worse having been subjected to Dr. Shilling's version of "care".

Do you feel that you made progress during your sessions with this psychiatrist?
Definitely not. I feel worse than I did before I started
Did this psychiatrist investigate your medical background before recommending a treatment option?
Somewhat, but I didn't feel like they had a thorough understanding
Did you notice a foul odor when you arrived at this provider's office?
Not at all, their office smelled fantastic!
Did this provider listen to your input and concerns?
Absolutely! This provider always listens carefully to what I have to say!
Did this provider ever take personal phone calls while in the appointment room with you?
Yes! He/she took a personal call right in front of me. I found it to be incredibly rude.

I have been a patient with Dr. Shilling and I do not recognize anything of her in the
previous hater reviews.
Reading over all the reviews, they sound like they are written by the same person.
Always signed anon. and have poor grammar & misspelled.
Its obvious to the reader these hater comments are about a certain medication for themselves and/or mother’s asking for the same medication for their children,.

Dr. Shilling is careful to write for appropriate prescriptions, which gives me peace of mind that I have trusted my healing process with a responsible, respected doctor that will not cave into wrongful medication requests.

I understand addictive behaviors, and they are a serious problem in society. It saddens me that one-time clients write hateful comments about this doctor just because she knew the client knew the street value of certain medications and the motive was not about healing.

I really like Dr. Shilling goes above and beyond with written instructions and takes extra time to explain things and to get to really know me.
Dr. Shilling really cares about her patients as I have been witness to that.
Anyone reading this should know the truth and facts about an excellent phychiatrist.
Kudos, to her assistants, whom are very kind and courteous. Her whole office reflects her wonderful philosophy, spirit and attention to detail. You can’t fake caring and kindness.

In closing, I find Dr. Shilling to be attentive and compassionate in my healing process. She has impressive credentials and I feel very humbled that she gives me a step by step process to find “ME” and my “HAPPY” again. db
