Dr. Hefter has to be the most knowledgeable physician who I've gone to in a long time. After suffering with a paronychia for weeks on end and not being correctly treated by other physicians, I ended up with wonderful Dr. H. Within 2 days of his cauterizing my finger, it was back to its normal size. I can't recommend him enough!! FABULOUS doctor. The receptionist was kind enough to fit me when she heard how long I was walking around with this.
I am grateful to both of them.

Hi there!!!
Let me commence by saying that I live in New Jersey and Dr. Hefter’s practice is in New York. In order to arrive for a 10:30 AM appointment, I must leave my house at five in the morning, thereby avoiding the morning rush hour. During peak traffic, the drive would take four hours . I believe this is a telling indication of how valuable, in my humble ( yet experienced) opinion, Dr. Hefter is, in so many ways.
I did visit a dermatologist in New Jersey but the diagnosis and guidelines given to me really left me confused, bewildered and with no clear direction or guidelines whatsoever. I felt worse leaving the office visit.
Without a true answer or protocol on how to move forward with my dermatological dilemma, I knew I had to go to Dr. Hefter. I needed clarity, information, peace of mind and tools for improvement .I’m just thrilled that I’m able to do so,and that I know about such a fantastic doctor.
My father was treated by Dr. Hefter for many, many years. He tended to the myriad serious needs of my beloved father. My Dad also spoke with such deep affection for Dr Hefter. For years. That is how I know of him, although residing in New Jersey. And Dr. Hefter gave my father excellent recommendations for other specialists that Dad needed as he aged.

I don’t write reviews online. But this is important. When you need a doctor, a good doctor, you are more than willing travel for one. Referrals and online reviews are crucial for informed decision making. Dr. Hefter is the consummate professional. He is meticulous and thorough. The good Dr. is completely present and fully focused on you at that moment. He is truly a gifted and brilliant physician. I trust his observations implicitly and completely. Not only is he an excellent dermatologist, he is a wonderful, kind human being. He’s interested in you; he asks you questions and makes you comfortable, alleviating your concerns. He just neutralizes all my worrying and fretting with his kind, composed, compassionate demeanor. I never feel rushed. I bring my list of questions and he answers every question thoughtfully and completely. I am grateful to know I have a doctor like Dr. Hefter on my wellness team.
When one has health concerns what is more paramount than the trust you have in your doctors’ experienced assessment, diagnosis treatment and manner.
Truth, knowledge, and honesty are powerful. We are lucky if we can find this rare mix today in medicine. Who wouldn’t travel the distance for a trusted physician.

Dr.Hefter is a very caring doctor, he has always shown great patient care and gave accurate diagnostics. He is very knowledgeable and always makes me feel comfortable. I am very satisfied with Dr.Hefter and recommend him to anyone in need of a dermatologist. The staff in the office is very friendly.

Dr. Hefter is a very caring and professional dermatologist. My mother, my sister, her family and my daughters were and are very grateful for the quality of care and positive outcomes we received under his care. I am a pharmacist and have dealt with many physicians over my 45 year career and Dr. Hefter is one of the finest practitioners I have known. The staff is extremely professional and appointments are always within 15 minutes of scheduled time. I highly recommend Dr. Hefter if you value the quality of your care.

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Hefter for a long time. Dr. Hefter is a very caring and knowledgeable dermatologist. He always gives a very thorough exam and answers all the questions and concerns that we have. He is very patient, and we never felt that he was rushing from one patient to another. My son, who does not live in NY, had a major problem that required surgery. We didn’t know how to proceed and called Dr, Hefter for advice. After putting in a long day in his office, he took the time to call us that evening explaining our son’s options and referred us to a very qualified surgeon. When, we saw him for our yearly checkup, one of the first questions he asked was how our son was doing. This simple question shows how caring he is. I would recommend Dr. Hefter strongly.

Dr. Hefter'staff is nice and helpful. In my opinion he is a "doctor's doctor." Intelligent, knowledgable and respectful, he takes the time to explain treatment options. I refer paitents to him as well as family members Waiting room wait times have decreased as well.

My family has been using Dr. Hefter for over 20 years. During that time, he has treated me, my husband, our children, my mother, and some close friends and we've all been EXTREMELY satisfied! Dr. Hefter spends time to learn each patient's concerns. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. His examinations are very thorough and the treatments are skillfully performed! Our family, our friends, our neighbors use Doctor Hefter. None of the above people live anywhere near his office. But we feel so strongly about his level of care it's worth the trip. We all have complete confidence in his ability as a doctor.
