I had no sooner entered this facility to register my husband when I was aggressively confronted by a staff member who was displeased with my husband's behavior. The questioned behavior stemmed from a combination of anxiety and a stroke that caused injury to the right frontal lobe of his brain resulting in impaired social judgement. This behavior is easily redirected and subsides as anxiety declines and healing progresses. As I signed the requisite paperwork, she entered the room, leaning over the desk in front of me while vigorously delivering her impressions of a physicallly depleted man whom she judged to be a dangerous sexual pervert. I politely asked if I should seek another facility and she responded negatively. I asked her if she and the staff of this "skilled" facility were trained in working with brain injury or stroke victims at which point she answered positively. I then asked what her expectations were of me and was simply told that I shouldn't visit my husband for more than an hour each time because I would make him "dependent". By now I was feeling not only unwelcome but highly suspicious and concerned for my husband's safety. I was appalled that personnel who were part of his recovery team were so poorly trained and uniformed in brain injury and rehabilitation of stroke victims.Later on this woman who was identified as a nurse practitioner made her way to my husband's room to inform me that I should be preparing to leave. Later on I was told by a nurse manager that visits are not limited. My impression of this woman brought Nurse Ratchet to mind. My impression of the facility is that there are serious problems with management, training and common civility.

But wait ! Three days later Nurse Ratchet went off again......I am tired of writing. HIPPA went out the window as NR and her sidekick blurted out my husband's personal health information in a busy corridor.Just be very discerning if you intend on confining a loved one in this facility

I've found a better place where my husband can heal unimpeded. The one star goes to the staff members who showed us kindness and have to work with this woman.

This facility does not pay attention to any detail whatsoever. I do not know how nursing staff keeps licenses...except that their malfeasance has not been reported to FDOH yet. Who else would think it makes perfect sense to give a patient a prescribed sleeping pill at 9:00 AM? Except if they just want that person to be a zombie. Then, they have no idea about what constitutes medical emergency and did not in the least seem pertubed about reporting a BP of 60 over 40. They did not even double check anything until I threated to call 911. They constantly lie, and then tell so many ,lies that they fogot how the whole story started to begin with. Then when you catch them in the lie there is never an acknowledgement of responsibility or ownership of the problem...just another lie to try to get out of being caught in the first one and it goes on and on. Unless you can be there every single day to make sure your loved one is not being illegally medicated or restrained, I would not recommend this facility.

They listened closely to everything I was telling them, and showed a lot of attention to detail. I've never had to worry about them forgetting something or not reading my information correctly, which I've encountered at other places. They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. They've never dismissed any of my concerns as unimportant, and take every concern of mine very seriously. I was confident that they were using the latest treatment methods.

Absolutely! They made me feel like my questions and concerns were stupid

Absolutely! I'm confident they will work hard to find the best solution for me
