This is just about one of the most depressing homes I've ever seen. Our family member spent a few months there, and during that time was overdosed on a pain patch and almost died, and when the nurse told me what happened, she very nonchalantly said, "oh, they probably put another pain patch on and didn't realize they already had one...". Unbelievable. Another time, our family member was screaming for someone to help because they were falling out of the bed (and they were stating that they were falling out of the bed), and I got a call a couple of days later saying, "Oh, your family member is alright, but they fell out of bed on their head". And lets talk about the several horrible bedsores that our family member had, which took literally months to heal after they were moved to another facility. What a completely depressing place, right across the street from a cemetery- this is what these people look at every single day. I agree, they see these people as a paycheck-and they were certainly prompt if their payment was late, but seem to lack in every other area. When I called to speak to the highest authority there, she basically defended their nurses, and was quite rude (I was NOT rude to them at all). But when I pulled our family member out of there, I got a call from the head office (which I let go to voicemail), saying they would just love to have them back there, etc. Our family member was still in the hospital after yet another Nebraska Skilled fiasco that they had suffered. I think they were in the hospital for close to a month that time. And this happened several times. If you are considering sending a relative there, please....DON'T. These people are terrible.
