Looking at the September 2013 comment, I believe that I encountered this same DON yesterday. She was rude, unprofessional and dressed like she was going out "clubbing". My father in law needed to be transported to the hospital and the wrong provider was contacted (ALS was needed) resulting in a 3 hour wait to get to the emergency room. Incompetent and unprofessional. He will not be returning to that facility.

I'm not the least impressed with this SNF. I wouldn't leave my family member there.. I felt the DON was dressed extremely inappropriately for her title (Skirts way too short and tight. Tops that are not appropriate for her age). While I was visiting, I noticed that the staff does not rush off to see a patient requiring assist to the bathroom or help with getting in/out of bed (some of the staff where too busy looking at their phones or reading the paper). The food does not look edible!!! I noticed that some of the call lights outside the patients rooms did not light up, you could only hear the beeping from them. As I continued to ask the staff questions (Nursing, Therapy, Nutrition), I continued to receive different answers... That's a Huge RED FLAG for me!!!! I also don't like the fact that there's only one RN on staff (from what I saw, this was 1 RN per shift) and the rest are LPN (no offense to LPN's), but I would like more RN's to be staffed!!!!
I'm sure there are some very dedicated individuals that do work here, but this place in NOT FOR ME or A FAMILY MEMBER of mine!!!!

Like any Nursing Home the staff is a mixture of good and bad, just like the general population. Like any NH, it's all about how much money they can bill the Government for without going to jail, and trick families into paying. The primary problem with all Nh's and hospitals as well is the lack of infection control. Millions of people suffer unnecessarily at the hands of these germ incubators and they like it that way. More $ for them.

Some wonderful individual caregivers here and some not. Bottom line my Mom got much sicker- pneumonia= contracted in the NH after sharing a room with a resident who coughed literally for weeks 24 hrs a day. She was sleep deprived and wound up in the hospital and nearly died. From there she went to Palm City NH and got even sicker- more horrible infections like c-diff. Educate yourself about c-diff- go to the Web MD and CDC website. And no one who cares about their loved one should ever have to go through what we have as a family. Nosocomial (health care acquired) infections are something everyone needs to know about and all health care facilities lie about how they're contracted.
