I'm going to give a five star to this nurse who I really think deserves it. Her name is Julia she works during the nightshift. The reason why I give her a five star or if I had the opportunity to give her a six star I would. But she deserves my stars because she is one of the most compassionate nurses that I have ever met. She does everything she possibly can to try to make me feel as comfortable as possible. She sometimes does more than she expected to in trying to make me feel at ease. She also helped to explain some of the medications that I was taking and how it affects me in my recovery. Very smart girl! Julia is definitely somebody that they don't want to lose because I'm very positive it's going to be hard to replace somebody like her.
Let me explain just a little bit more about Julia. Being a patient at the hospital sometimes we require a little bit more time to communicate or just to get situated inside the room. But since I'm a little timid to ask for her help all the time I'm always trying to tell her that there are other patients who need care maybe more than me. But Julia reinforced that if she spends around 15 minutes with me that I would be less likely to push the call light after she left the room. And you know what it's very true! My mother was a nurse and my grandmother was also a nurse so I can definitely identify who is a good nurse.
Jeff, Jeff, Jeff! Another person I cannot forget to name. He is a nother most learned nurses. Very smart indeed. If I could match Jeff up to somebody I remember seeing on TV I would have to say he reminds me of MacGyver. He can make anything happen. He could basically start an IV with a piece of paper and a match. All the nurses know exactly who I'm talking about.
I am a happy camper. Very happy with the care and service that I got at kindred. Wasn't expecting to have such a fantastic group of nurses looking after me. Also a big thanks to my doctor for getting me healthier.
This five-star goes to Felix. Felix actually works in the maintenance department. Usually nurses get good kudos but I just wanted to give a five star to Felix because sometimes the people that you never really see, those who work behind the scenes actually do the magic for the patients that are at the hospital. Felix just help to fix the leak inside my room restroom. Not a big major fix but I thought it was great to have a good handyman at the hospital when you need them. Plus he just did exactly what he said he was going to do which was to fix the leak the next morning. He actually had to pick up the parts and bring it back the next following day but he did exactly what he promised me. And being a kindred for sometime it's kind a like having your own handyman. Another person that I like to recognize his Virginia. She's actually not a nurse but she's from the housekeeping team. I recall meeting her at another kindred Hospital and then meeting her again at this location. I didn't ask for too much just asked if she can get me an additional trash bin. A very simple request but she took care of it as fast as she could. My reviews might sound a little bit silly because I didn't write anything about the nurse. Sometimes other people need that five star. I see so many reviews about the nurses but other people deserve five stars too. On the same note all the nurses have been fantastic.
I've been to kindred many times before, a total of four times to be precise. The reason why I keep coming is because Dr. Warner who is my primary physician works there in the wound care department. The reason why I like Dr. Warner's because he's the first physician that Has actually prayed with me before I went to surgery. I never had any doctors do that before before and it actually touched my heart. He's a good man and a great doctor. We likes to joke around from time to time. My mom actually made blankets for his two babies. My mom likes to say that me and Dr. Warner have become more friends than just a patient and Dr. relation. Lol. He has been taking care of me for around 4 years now. Thank you for Dr. Warner for looking after me all the time. Coming to kindred for so many times this is the first time that they asked me to do a review. But the care that I got at Kindred has been great. I've never had a bad experience other than some food but a Hilario the kitchen boss takes care of me. Thank you to all the nurses and CNA.
This is the place I would recommend. Didn't have any problems at all with the care that I was getting. The service that I received has been great as I feel much better now than I did before. I finally got discharged so I'm happy about that. Appreciate your help Shula and thanks for being there for me.
I came to Kindred from Huguely but didn't know too much about kindred. So I was a little worried about where I was going, not knowing what to expect. When I arrived, I found the transition was very smooth and very easy. The nurses have been outstanding in taking care of me. All the nurses have been friendly and kind. It's been a great experience to be at Kindred. All the nurses, Doctors and techs have been so friendly and helpful. Mickey who was one of my nurses on the fourth floor has been extremely sweet and caring. Every time I pushed the call light she would always come and see me and assist wherever I needed it. It's not a easy job to be a nurse as they require a lot of different skills to take care of people. They have to know what the patients needs for a fast recovery and also what medicine they require. A round of applause to all the hard-working nurses. Job well done. Another big thanks goes out to Brandy and Robert who works in the HBO department. They made me feel very comfortable and at ease when going into a chamber for the first time. If you never been in the chamber before it can be quite scary. But they were able to relieve and calm me down. If I had to come back to any hospital, I would choose Kindred.
I wanted to say first and foremost thank you to some of the most exceptional nurses working at Kindred. Nurses jobs are really rough. Every single staff member from Respiratory , PT, CNAs, Housekeeping, Dietary were helpful, friendly and of course the Doctor Moran was amazing. Although I'm not much into hospitals, Kindred SW managed to make me feel comfortable, took a genuine concern about my well being, and had the best bedside manner. Kindred SW will continue to be my choice and I will definitely recommend to others BWalker
I used to work in the medical industry before as a lab tech for Plaza medical center. I'm actually retired right now. But being in the medical industry is probably one of the most toughest jobs in the world. Because you have to deal with different people all the time and you just have to have a certain quality about yourself. Some of these qualities are people skills, patience and motivation in helping others.
Those skills that I just mentioned do stand out in a lot of the staff and nurses that are working at Kindred hospital. I actually got to experience this from a patient perspective. Usually I was on the opposite end. Their team made my care and my stay a little bit more pleasing. Your staff is always friendly and nice, I don't recall any time I ever had any issue with any body. Robert from the HBO was very helpful and very easy to talk to you. Also the techs or CNAs there we're all outstanding. Techs are probably the most important people that you need inside hospital as they do a lot of the small work or general workload the nurses and doctors just don't do. A big round of applause for them. Also thank you Theresa for taking care of me. You always had a smile on your face which made me feel really good.
I had a podiatrist treating my for for about 10 years. Throughout that time I saw very little progress even though he told me that I was getting better. I wasn't receiving much as far as treatments go and I was actually informed by some nurses that I may lose my foot if I didn't look for a place that could provide better care. They recommended the wound care center at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. I called to make an appointment and began to see Dr. Werner. I almost immediately began to receive all kinds of treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infusion therapy and wound care services. Ive been coming here for about 6 months and have noticed a marked improvement in healing of my foot. The wound care and HBO areas are kept very clean and sanitary and the wound care team consisting of Bryan, Brandy and Robert always does a phenomenal job. They always keep an eye on me and it's not a cliché to say that they really do come together to provide excellent care for their patients. I probably would be entirely healed if I had come to Kindred first.
I know that being a nurse isn't the easiest job in the world. I know that myself I couldn't do that job as I find it very tough. Its surely not a job for everybody and it takes a certain skill and personality to be in that role. That particular jobs require people to have a lot of love and compassion for others who they don't even know. Mickey who was one of my nurses deserves some great kudos because she was always smiling. Lifting up my spirits in times when I was feeling down. She was always helpful when I needed it. As a patient we know that we need help from time to time as there are a lot of things that we can't particularly do. But I really appreciate all the help that you provided Mickey. Erica was another one of my nurses who was always willing to help and also doing more then she should particularly do. With so many patients that are in the hospital, hospitality is so hard to find. But Erica shows great hospitality and care. I have never heard of an ambassador program before. But kindred has one which are designated individuals assigned to visit patients throughout the day and just to see exactly how they're doing. However Dustin was my ambassador who visited me regularly and he was very good at it. He helped with any particular issues worries or concerns that I might have. But overall he was very helpful in getting what I needed. Thank you Dustin for your help. Would be recommendation to others to consider kindred if you're looking for a hospital. Just to let you know we had three other choices before considering kindred but my one main qualification was to have my own private room which one they were able to accommodate.
