A well deserved five star to kindred and the nursing team. Everyone has been so kind in every department that I have been with or those who have came to see me. The team in the HBO have been wonderful because I was very apprehensive the first time and they helped to calm me down as I didn't know what to expect. Now I'm very comfortable with going to receive treatment at the HBO department. I know what to expect now as they helped to explain the process. Thanks to Rob and Brandy! The wound care nurses have been really nice when looking after my wounds. They were never forceful or treated my wounds rough. I was a nurse for about 36 years and I know it's not an easy job. I know exactly what they go through when dealing with patients. I admire what they do as we know it's not easy. The last word of thanks goes to Chris who was one of my nurse that helped with my picc line dressing. He was very delicate and percise. Just a big thank you to the entire team and making me feel very comfortable as I had to be there for a lengthy the time.

Thank you Mickey for looking after me during my time at Kindred. I really appreciated all your help and your support when I needed it. You're so kind and sweet and a lot of patients at the hospital needs kindness like yours. Thank you for getting me the food that I needed when I wasn't really enjoying some of the dishes. Also thank you for taking care of my pain when I was there. Big thanks to Jared for being so gentle when changing my dressings. Originally I thought he didn't know how to do it but he did. Thank you kindred for being such a great Hospital. The nurses and techs have been terrific.

Its has been a great journey, a total of 36 classes to be percise. I've learned so much about myself and the human body that I didn't know before, especially how the lungs function. I originally didn't want to go to the program however my doctor advised that I go and see them for evaluation. He said once I'm there, just make a best determination if the program was fit for me. So I took his word for it, and give it a try because I didn't have much to lose. Surprising myself I think the program was an excellent choice that I made in my life.

We know sometimes when we meet people you can always tell that if that person is really dedicated to helping you, or if they are just there working for the money. However I met a young lady by the name of Tanya who is one of the pulmonary experts. She made me feel so comfortable and at ease about myself and the condition that I was suffering from. She was very interested in me and eager to get me back into the condition that it was before I had this respiratory issue. She was very patient and open minded to the things that happened during my life and how I have struggled with my breathing. She was one of the greatest inspirations and motivated me participate in the class. I would have to say it has been an adventure.

During those 36 sessions, each day we were performing various and different activities that worked out each body part however contributing to my breathing recovery. During the exercise they taught me how to work out and breathe properly. Something that I didn't do before! I would have to say that the pulmonary program has made me better understand my body and how to control my breathing using various techniques that they have taught me. I'm actually so proud of the program that I always tell my grandkids about it and others who are suffering from breathing issues. I finally graduated from the program but it doesn't stop there! I recently joined 24 hour fitness to keep myself in good shape for myself and family.

If you're planning or considering joining Kindreds pulmonary program, you have made the right choice. The program isn't boring as you get to work as a team and working out with others that have the same issues like you do can be more motivating. Its also great as you motivate each other to give your best and they recipicate. Thank you Tanya and thank you Ken. As I graduated I will surely miss you both. Please be sure to share my story with them if you read this.

This isn't my first visit but it is my first review. I keep choosing Kindred because I feel safe when I'm there and Dr. Adamo is one of the best doctors that I know. It's always great to know that you're going to be well taken care of while you're there. They have a great group of outstanding nurses and techs that will surely keep you in good health and spirits. Todd who was one of my nurses is an outstanding person at his job; sometimes I don't have to call out to him but he knew exactly when I needed something. Or maybe he was just checking up on me regularly but I really appreciated that. Also thank you for keeping me in good spirits. Glad that I had you looking after me. Also Lawanda who is another nurse that works at the hospital is such the sweetest person. She knows exactly how to treat patients. If there were more nurses like her, I think many hospitals throughout the world would be a great place. Very gentle and delicate on everything she did. Never forceful nor pushy. Thank you for your kindness and care. Also a big thanks to Dorothy for all you've done as well. If I have left anybody out I do apologize as I am not able to remember everybody's name. But do know that you all have done an outstanding job.

I'm writing because of the amazing service that I received during my time at Kindred. I was referred there by a Doctor who works at Huguely. How I ended up at kindred was a surprise on its own. They told me that I had a few places to select from but the only problem was the admitting date was during December which was very close to the Christmas holiday. Some of the hospitals that I selected had advised that they were understaffed because a majority of the nurses were out on holiday. So they referred me to Kindred and said that they are always staffed there including with the holiday coming around. I actually admitted to Kindred on December 24.

When I arrived at the hospital they were very accommodating. I was given my own room on the third floor which was nice but had to share it at the beginning with another roommate before they left. But the staff their have been extremely nice and caring. Something that I expect from any hospital. Not always that you will find nice people to be around. Especially during the holidays when the majority of people would rather be with family instead of working. The good thing about it when they told me about kindred southwest, I knew exactly where it was because are used to help build the houses around the area so I thought that was kind of cool.

But overall the doctors and nurses including the techs have been fantastic and my recovery. I'm so glad that I have the opportunity to get a selection of hospitals to go to but at the end choosing Kindred and making that right choice. The only thing that I had a small complaint on was regarding my food being wrong when ordering something else. However they were able to correct it when needed. I hope for others, that your family or yourself will have a pleasant stay like mine. Since everybody is different in their own unique way we're not always easy to satisfy. As long as you listen to your doctors and perform the proper procedures that they request, I'm sure you will be just fine. Would recommend others to Kindred if given the chance. Thank you for reading my story.

I was in a pulmonary rehab program in 2014 and that was similar in duration to this program. This time a physician related to UT Southwest prescribed this program for me. They wanted me to start immediately so I begin to research online the location of a pulmonary rehab program. I got in contact with somebody that recommended Kindred Ft. Worth Southwest and they also provided a phone number for the program. I called the number and spoke to Ken and he was able to schedule an appointment for my evaluation. One of the pluses to this program is that I could start immediately and they also scheduled me at a time that was convenient for me and my schedule. Some of this, review is going to be based on comparison to the last program that I attended. While attending this program, they explained how to properly use my medications, how to exercise correctly and also taught me how to use the equipment. They all did a very good job with all of these things. They use a device called the Lung Boost for breathing exercises and this device was affordable enough for me to get one of my own for home use. The therapists also explained the benefit of using a spacer for my inhaler so that the medication is better administered. The handouts that they gave me were also very relevant to my situation. However, the equipment here was not in abundance and they could benefit from more of it. Now the exercises were better explained than in the other program and I did benefit more from these exercises than I did at the other program. Overall I think that this is a better program and I also thought that the weight training here was explained very well to me. Ken, Tanya, Ron and Alfred are all very good at what they do. Another positive is that they were very flexible with scheduling and they were willing to work around my schedule.

Thank you Kindred for providing me with a great pulmonary and physical therapy experience. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of Ron who works for the pulmonary program and Tracy who works as a physical therapist. Ron who is a pulmonary expert has educated me on things that I never knew before. Almost feels like starting class as 101. He has educated me on how to control my breathing and how to control my stress which leads to my breathing issues. He is surely very knowledgeable at what he does and I seen it firsthand. Some of his good attributes is that he is constantly motivating you no matter if you're doing it wrong or right. I think that something that everybody needs is a, good motivator. I'm sure he's a very humble person and it's kind of hard to people like that these days, especially as some therapist think highly of themselves.

Tracy who was my therapist and the physical therapy department is another outstanding individual. she is another person that helps to motivate you to give your best even though you're not always fit for it. I really appreciate your help and all you done in trying to rehabilitate me. Kindred is a place I would surely come back to if I had a choice and a place I would recommend to others. My wife also thinks the same! However don't take my word for it; it's always great to visit them and experience it for yourself.

I had to spend Christmas at Kindred but it's ok, as long as I got the best care possible. Which I did! I really appreciated the kindness and care that I received from all the staff at the hospital. I never met one staff their that was unfriendly or just a bad employee of the hospital. Everyone was terrific and I really mean this from the bottom of my heart.

They have such a wonderful medical team and everyone should know this. My room was on the 4th floor which was my very own room and I got lucky since it was private room. Some of the nurses that I think deserve a good review are Mickey, Lawanda, Rita, Deborah, Emily, Gerianne, Godfrey, and Donna. I actually didn't remember everybody's names so I had to ask George from the business office to find out exactly who was looking after me so I could do this review. But these nurses are some of the best. They were always checking up on me, giving the best care possible. I don't think I could have asked for a better team than what I received at Kindred. Hard to believe but it's true! Also Dr Moran and Dr Chennupati were some of my favorite doctors. I feel much better now than I was during my admission. Able to walk further, think more clearly and most important is my ability to be more independent. I also have to give credit to the Physical therapy team for making this happen. I was actually walking over 10 to 12 times a day up and down the halls on my own.

Romeo and Angela thank you for being the best CNA nurses for me. Was great to have both of you helping me. Romy your my favorite physical therapist and thank you for letting me exercise in my room when I wasn't able to go down to your gym. As I haven't worked for over one year now, I am hoping with my health in a better condition, I'm looking to get more activity and exercise out of myself. Thank you all for your help and everything that you have done to get me where I am today.

I came into the program not knowing much about COPD. My doctor had not given me much instruction about breathing techniques to practice when I was having trouble breathing. While I was in his waiting room one day, I began speaking with one of the other patients and the topic of pulmonary rehab came up. During my appointment I brought it up to my doctor and he highly recommended the pulmonary rehab program at Kindred Fort Worth Southwest. I contacted the staff and then came in for my initial evaluation. Ron, one of the therapists, was very knowledgeable, pleasant and informative. After my evaluation, I was scheduled to start attending classes within the following week and I did not have to wait. The therapists gave me a book about COPD and I began to receive very valuable information about proper breathing techniques and the reasons to take different medications that have been prescribed to me. I learned the difference between fast acting medication and long acting medication. I've also received numerous handouts that I can refer to when I'm at home. I was taught a lot about oxygen as well. The therapists here are very vigilant during our exercises and they monitor our vital signs very closely. They are also very encouraging during our pulmonary rehab sessions. I now know the reasons for my treatment as this was explained to me in great detail. I was also informed of how to listen to my body if I am over exerting myself. This program has been excellent and I no longer have to guess things about my condition. The therapists also gave me their contact information in case I ever have any questions. I have called in with some questions since then and I have received immediate answers to them. The staff is very courteous and personable and they really take a personal interest in everyone. They make everyone feel very valued. I think that anyone that has been diagnosed with COPD should attend the pulmonary rehab program at Kindred Ft. Worth Southwest.

Been to both Kindred Mansfield and Kindred Southwest. Both of the hospitals have a great nurses and doctors working for them. But both facilities I received great healthcare. I guess this is the reason why I came back to Kindred. One of the positive things about the southwest location is that you have a great physical therapy program which I graduated from. All their therapist are very kind and gentle with treating patients such as myself who are older. Also the nurses seem to know exactly what you need sometimes without even asking. I also like the fact that I am visited by my doctor regularly. Help to easy that sense of worry. Thank you to the HBO team who is looking after my leg wound, it's getting much better now than it was before. Job well done to the entire Kindred team. If your not feeling so well or need a good place with trustworthy doctors and nurses, do consider Kindred as one of your choices.
