Andrew Loizeaux is at the heart of the CFI / PRE debacle in Colorado. He is corrupt, dishonest, greedy, and is generally a despicable person. His firm (Katz & Loizeaux) performs many PRE’s in the state. At times, if there are no ‘under the table’ funds available, if he does not have a pre-conceived agenda or longstanding relation with an opposing attorney, he might be capable of writing a competent report. However, Andrew Loizeaux is not above taking a bribe in exchange for filing a false or biased evaluation. The firm of Katz & Loizeaux is immune to examination from DORA or the DA’s office for such actions because Dr. Loizeaux has appointed himself as an ‘ethicist’ and serves on the review board of both groups. By serving in such a capacity, Loizeaux and the gang of thieves who work for him are above reproach. Loizeaux and his playmate, Les Katz, take terms serving on these committees so that they will never face scrutiny or review. The idea of such a person being appointed as an ‘ethicist’ is almost comical, if it weren’t for the amount of devastation he inflicts on many Colorado families. If you have been wronged by this ‘therapist’ who has armed himself with a piece of paper from a diploma mill, consider filing a report with DORA, or report him to the District Attorney’s office. Otherwise, if you are faced with choosing any employee from the firm of Katz & Loizeaux to perform a PRE, refuse their services, and then run! .

Beware everyone, Katz and Loizeaux will rob you blind. The outrageous fees they and their practice have garnered over the years by preying on divorcing couples is one of the reasons the Colorado Supreme Court limited CFIs (Child & Family Investigations) to $2,000 in 2011. But take note that this limit doesn't apply to PREs (Parental Responsibilities Evaluations), and this team will charge you tens of thousands of dollars for mediocre and frivolous work for a PRE. Remember, these "psychologists" are not medical doctors, like psychiatrists are. They are people who weren't capable of getting into medical school. They have doubtful intelligence and questionable skill in their field, but they are certainly shrewd at siphoning every cent from unfortunate couples. Notice that in all the reviews on this site, there is one positive review for Loizeaux, but not one positive review for Katz. Is there not at least one person, on either side of a dispute, who feels he or she benefited from a PRE by Les Katz who is willing to write a positive review? To me that says something, that engaging in a PRE with this group is not something that yields a positive result for anyone.

Dr. L and his team did a great job in my divorce. He is known to be father friendly and I as nervous he would side with the dad more than me. He was right down the middle and sided with the KIDS! That is exactly what you want in a CFI or PRE. He took his time, interviewed a ton of folks and I think the poor reviews are from people lost for a reason! I would highly recommend him for a fair evaluation of your situation. Also, my kids liked him!!

This story should tell you all you need to know about Dr Les Katz. My former wife sought his services at the pushing of her attorney for a Parental Responsibilities Evaluation (PRE) during our divorce. Dr Katz is notorious for siding with those who seek him. He delivered an astoundingly biased report that handled her with kid gloves while aiming vitriol at me. Fortunately the judge disagreed with his report and even said despite Dr Katz's criticisms that we were both "excellent parents," and granted us 50/50 in parenting time and decision making.

But that is just the tip of the iceberg. When my wife and I divided up our property near the end of our divorce, she listed over $14,000 in charges from Dr Katz as a debt to him, so we split the amount 50/50. Six months later after our divorce was final... we learned that my wife had listed this $14K "debt" only five weeks AFTER having paid Dr Katz in full, so it was not a debt at all and therefore I ended up paying for the entire PRE. My attorney and I didn't know any better and we believed it was truly a debt, because Dr Katz's invoices he sent to me stated "no incoming payments" when my wife had actually paid him. Isn't that strange? We then learned that Dr Katz's court fees to serve as a witness for my wife were included in this $14K, and they obviously should not have been. And lastly, Dr Katz sent my wife a refund, which belonged to the both of us, but he didn't apprise me of it. When my attorney and I inquired to Dr Katz about these items, the man who previously answered our emails right away... never responded.

This supposed psychologist is a swindler and an all-around reprehensible person. If you are skeptical about the veracity of any of the above, feel free to email me at T3081323@yahoo.com and I can guide you to the court documents with exhibits proving this, as well as the complaint I filed against Dr Katz. And please don't be fooled by your attorney to engage in a CFI or PRE with Dr Katz. Doing so simply brings both your attorney and Dr Katz more fees.

I am surprised that Les Katz remains a licensed evaluator or therapist. Psychologists and therapists who perform CFI’s and PRE’s are, in essence, hired to provide investigative services for the court. To bribe, offer, or accept favors in exchange for a biased report may constitute a criminal act that is a Class IV felony. Conviction for such an act carries a sentence of 2 to 12 years of incarceration. It is surprising that, given the amount and degree of corruption that appears to exist in the evaluation industry by forensic evaluators such as those represented by Katz & Loizeaux, that no convictions have taken place to date. Oftentimes, families affected by the PRE reports are fearful of retaliation from the evaluators. For such cases, understand your legal rights to hold these ‘experts’ accountable. Consult with an attorney to determine time limits for filing such a case either directly or have an attorney represent your child(ren), should they be harmed as a result the faulty, biased or false reports filed by these evaluators.

Les Katz is a bone fide scumbag. I have sat across the table from him at professional meetings and heard him divulge confidential information about clients to attorneys. I have heard him brag about how great he is.

If you are reading this, please know that you are not crazy.

Katz and his business partner, Drew, have been known to take payments to deliver findings. The problem is that they are slick and at times are capable of delivering a good evaluation. However, Les Katz won't deliver a good evaluation when there is good money to be had elsewhere.

You can follow this firm's work by tracking them at MDIC and CO Bar meetings. If you are in the position to do so, stand up and do all that you can to stop them. Record their actions meticulously, and file your grievances. We hope to stop Katz before he damages more families. If nothing else, his reputation eventually will come back to haunt him.

If I had to use one word to describe Dr. Les Katz, it would be dishonest. He is dishonest to his clients which he supposedly serves, and he is dishonest to the profession of being a mental health professional which he should uphold.

While he has published a number of articles and has weaseled his way onto numerous family committees, he is not the professional he is trying to portray. Outside of his resume his true focus is extracting as much time and money from his clients as he can, with disregard to the harm he is causing families across the Denver area. I have yet to meet someone on either side of a dispute who is grateful to Dr. Katz for a fair and honest evaluation. Working with Dr. Katz turned into a downward spiral that I will forever regret.
