Tom - my son is in the middle of a PRE and Dr. Katz has created a huge mess. I don't know how to access the complaints from DORA that you discuss. Would you email me at provenancegroup@aol.com?
My summary on Dr. Les Katz is that his work is shoddy at an exorbitant price. We were looking for a simple decision to break an impasse over parenting time, and after just a few interviews and a hastily prepared report, Dr. Katz billed us for over $11,000. He charged us for quick phone calls just to schedule appointments. Photocopying fee for our file: $500. And he noted to me at one point that he would have spent even more time on our situation if the judge hadn't time-boxed our case. In my divorce support group I learned of someone who was charged over $30,000 by Dr. Katz. While his educational background is not particularly noteworthy, he nonetheless seems to have a bit of a god complex about his self-worth, and he is arrogant and demeaning. I would steer clear of this charlatan.
If you want to learn the full breadth of Dr. Katz's approach to working with clients, review the complaints filed against him by contacting The American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C., or DORA (Department of Regulatory Agency) here in Colorado under mental health professionals. The complaints are fully revealing of the extent of this psychologist's "services."
I can't comment on Dr. Loizeaux, but Dr. Les Katz is a scoundrel. You will spend a lot of money with Dr. Katz if you are seeking a CFI or PRE with him, as he creates a swirl of controversy which perpetuates the conflict. Don't be fooled into thinking that Dr. Katz will resolve matters with a CFI or PRE. He knows how the system works and will create enough uncertainty on both sides such that you'll likely end up in court, spending yet more money with him as a witness. It wasn't until my divorce trial was over with that I understood the racket that his practice is, and how his approach takes advantage of couples financially who are looking for a fair evaluation.
