No happy with Dunnellon Animal Hospital today. Our dogs have been patients here for more than three years. Yesterday I took my female to be spayed, dropped her off a little after 8 am and by 2pm my husband called to check on her as we hadn't received a call yet. He was told she's doing fine..... I called just before 4pm and was told they were about to take her in for the procedure. I was furious. My dog had no food or water since 6pm the day before. My husband called and was told they had 17 surgeries scheduled that day and an emergency.
That is Poor scheduling. Someone should have called to reschedule or something. They have a 25$ off this month on spaying and are apparently trying to make up for it by overbooking procedures. This increases risk of mistakes having so many in one day. Shame on them. And then still tried to sell me the heartgard and nexgard.... anything for a buck. To hell with caring for the dog as long as they make their dollar!

We've been going here for 10 years with no complaints at all. Our dogs had all the care and love possible. Now that Dr. Mack has sold the business and Dr. Hendricks has moved on, the business is nothing more than an over booked understaffed less than run of the mill veterinary hospital, with no compassion for the animals. We're never going back. Our dogs mean much more to us than taking chances with their health.

I am not so happy with Dunnellon Animal Hospital. To make a long story short after my dog passed away I made and several calls and e-mails to the hospital they still keep sending me e-mails to bring him in for his past due check up! He passed away 2 weeks after having surgery at the Dunnellon Animal Hospital. I do not blame them for his passing; however; I feel I was given poor advise on surgery for a dog 15 years old. I think they are to blame for his poor quality of life after the surgery until his death. I called to speak to a manager regarding this and m phone call has not been returned.

When our 12 y.o. cat suddenly was in great pain and his rear legs were paralyzed, we called Dunnellon Animal Hospital because the vet we'd been going to didn't respond after office hours. It was 11:00 PM.and Dr. Witte was on call He was fantastic. He was quite sure what had happened and met us at the office within 15 minutes. His earlier diagnosis was confirmed, cardiomyopathy. He did everything to relieve Nick's pain and contacted a specialty vet in Tampa to see if there was anything further that could be done. It was decided to keep Nick sedated until morning and evaluate the situation then. He was monitored hourly by the office TV network. Sadly, Nick died early the next morning. Dr. Witte provided compassionate and highly professional care. We continue to use the services of the Dunnellon Animal Hospital and are very happy with the service we receive.
