3 Ways to Reduce the Symptoms of Menopause

Menopause can bring on some pretty uncomfortable symptoms, most of which hit at the worst time possible. From dryness and itching to burning up from the inside out, you can reduce the symptoms of menopause so that this stage in life isn’t as unpleasant as it could be.

Dandelion Tea

Believe it or not, dandelions have a wealth of health benefits. They can be cooked, put in salads, made into wine, and yes, even used to reduce the symptoms of menopause. Simply steep the root into a tea and sip it as part of your morning ritual. You’ll find that it can help with all sorts of issues having to do with menses, including cramps, PMS, night sweats, and moodiness.

Anti-Caffeine

Caffeine does nothing good for menopause and can even make it worse. Switch to decaf, cut down on the amount of caffeine you consume, or eliminate it from your diet altogether. Anything that ramps up your nervous system is only going to make things worse when your hormones are going through changes.

Exercise

You hear about how you need to exercise all the time. During menopause, your body needs more effort from you than ever before. Getting regular exercise during menopause can make you feel better mentally and physically, but it can also help distribute oxygen and even out your hormone levels so that you can reduce the number of extremes you face throughout your day. Learn to balance your exercise schedule with your sleep schedule for even more benefits. Some people sleep better when they exercise in the morning, while others sleep better when they exercise an hour or two before bedtime.
