Mental health is a skill. It is when I do not embrace the skills that I surrender my personal and social control to that which I perceive as a threat. What is threatening to me is relative to who I think of myself and how I want the world to see, know me. With this point made, the balance between fear and desire is anger. Anger motivates. Anger management is the skill to manage one's impressions, facilitate one's frustration tolerance, and be mindful of impulse control.
