went for a TB test paid cash was happy. Got billed later for back xrays? just had a TB? STILL trying to get off billing and collections? STAY AWAY PEOPLE
I visited the American Family Care on Montclair Road in Birmingham, Alabama because of an eye problem. The staff was okay as it related to customer service; however, that sorry excuse for a doctor sucked. This is the second time I've dealt with this woman. Not only was she not friendly both times and had the personality of a dial tone, she misdiagnosed my condition. She told me that my cornea was scratched and gave me a prescription for some sort of eye gel. Of course, the gel did not work, so I went to the eye center in Walmart. The doctor there told me that my cornea was not scratched, and he prescribed drops that made my eye better immediately. I HATE AFC! I will never go there again.
I was an extern in college with AFC Hoover location.....I was dismissed for supposed smoking on the property, which I did not do. There is a receptionist in front named Summer who smokes a vape cigarette inside the clinic between the old paper charts. Another receptionist that stays on her cell phone most of the day, and an xray tech that is just rude. The staff, including the clinic manager are more play than work. The place is filthy. I cleaned it daily. The sterile process is NOT Sterile and the sheets you lay on are washed in Tide and dried right on site. NOT STERILE AT ALL...... The employees are rude, and need a lesson in humanity
I cannot get my refund in a timely manner. My account was improperly billed from the beginning and continued to have incorrect transactions applied to my account the date of service was October 2015 and now it February 2016 and I'm still waiting for my $50 refund. I was told it would be six weeks after the date they finally corrected the transactions on my account. I called for status of the refund and now I'm told 8 weeks. Trying to find out how to file a formal complaint about the way my account has been handled. I could not have been seen on the date of service without paying the $50 and now it's taking me over 4 month to get it back.
It is very unfortunate that when a person is sick they rely on good people to take care of them. Your whole front office staff is a laughing joke they are not even trained medical people but they try to make medical decisions for you when they have no idea what's going on I went to your Smyrna location and I have had a good relationship with Dr head but the staff is the most rude unprofessional non educated people I have ever met on the face of the earth I myself, I'm in the medical field and I entrusted doctor head with my health care but his staff has led me to make a different choice and my provider when it comes to my health the waiting time either in the waiting room or on the phone is ridiculously slow I promise you your business will go downhill quick if these matters are not handled one of the first things in the medical field that we are taught is to be kind to sick people. I have walking pneumonia and I do not feel like being talked down to or argued with over the telephone trying to get a prescription you really need to look into your front office staff and the way they handle things they are running patience off obviously by all the reviews that are on this survey. Thank you kindly
It would have been hard to have been worse. Billing was messed up, Nurse was incredibly rude and didn't know how to administer a shot. Will give one star because the doctor was fine but all in all top 2 worst experiences ever in a doctor's office.
I moved to Georgia the beginning of 2014 and needed a place for healthcare. Routine checkups for blood pressure, etc. I went to the Marietta location three times and the billing is still not resolved as of 6/12/2015. The billing department admits they owe me a refund. This after several calls and them lying to me about the incomplete processing my health care insurance company was providing. It turned out my health care insurance company had processed the claims almost a year ago. AFC biling is either incompetant or skimming. I was told about three weeks ago that my check will be in the mail...nothing yet.
Because I do not have insurance, I decided to go to American Family for my foot. I could have easily went to Doctor's Care where I normally go. I paid my money upfront and wait for the doctor to come in. He visually diagnosed my foot, but not before asking me, e patient where I saw swelling. Wow! as my feet hung over the table, the veins and ligaments in my left foot were clear and present. As for my right, not one was noticeable. If I stand on the floor, my right toes DO NOT touch the floor, whereas my left toes do. It feels as though the circulation to my foot is being cut off. My toe nails were not 'perfectly painted and maybe that is why he didn't want to thoroughly check it out. But he decided to do the proverbial, run-of-the-mill X-rays that are included in the amount I paid. After they were developed, he came back in, sat down, put his elbow on the counter and his fist to his cheek saying, "Well, nothing is broke. We can put a brace on, but I don't know how you are going to fit it in your shoe." Wow! I have to say, that is the first time I felt disrespect from a doctor. Not even I. Doctors Care is the such disrespect! It was (and still is) the knuckle of my big toe and the underside of my foot. Because he did not see bruising, his attitude was quite loud, [I was just complaining]. Two weeks late, my foot remains swollen and this morning I did wake to a bruise on the top of that big toe knuckle, to which I must go to another doctor to find out what is wrong with my foot. I seriously don't think I will be able to go back to your facility. I think I deserve my money to be returned to me. I am self-employed and I work very hard for my money.
